RESULTS | Doubles and 12 Gauge Club Skeet Shoot

We had 10 shooters competing in the Monthly Club Skeet Shoot held on Saturday, December 31st… New Year’s Eve.  The weather was brisk and breezy in the morning making the Doubles event a bit challenging.  In the afternoon, it warmed up and was dead calm with perfect targets to shoot at.  Bill McCrary led the field in both the Doubles and 12 gauge events.  He posted a score of 88 in very difficult shooting conditions during the Doubles event.  After lunch, he shot a perfect score of 100 out of 100, followed closely by John Delaloye with a super score of 99  (In spite of the harassment offered by his team mates while he was shooting).  We had two Junior shooters in attendance, with Ashley Oldfield emerging as Champion for the day.  See winners reports for details.  A special note of thanks to Bruce Mark for coming out and refereeing the shoot also providing those great sour dough pretzel snacks.  Linda Cudia made a great lunch with Mexican Soup and build your own sandwiches that everyone really enjoyed.

Our next shoot will be a one day, two event competition on Saturday, January 28th.  We will be shooting a 50 pair Doubles event in the morning and a 100 target 12 gauge event in the afternoon again.  The logic behind shooting another Doubles event is to provide club members the opportunity to shoot the minimum award requirements for the National Skeet Shooting Association. All of the open shoots have their Doubles events held on a Friday with most people still at work or our younger shooters still in school.  Should be a good time and will be your first opportunity to register targets for the NSSA 2017 skeet year.  Mark your calendar and plan to attend.
